Floyd 'Bud' Dull

Floyd Bud Dull, 81, of Reed City and formerly of Jackson passed away Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at home. His funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home (2300 S. Lincoln Rd.) in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Dennis Bromley officiating. A luncheon will follow at the funeral home immediately following the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Good Mourning (Albright Park Camp & Retreat Center, 3156 190th Ave., Reed City MI 49677). Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Bud was born Dec. 14, 1933, in Jackson, son of the late Downing A. and Violet (Poling) Dull. He served in the U.S. Army, serving in both Korea and Japan. On July 26, 1958, he married the love of his life, Patricia VanDuren at the Dutch Reformed Church in Holland. Getting kids to church camp and providing for his family were high priorities for Bud, but nothing compared to the love he shared with his wife, Patricia. Bud worked as a shipping clerk for Melling Tool in Jackson. Bud is survived by two children, Dennis (Diane Merrow) Dull of Reed City and Kayleen (Mike) Lyons of Greenville; grandchildren, Aubrey Dull of Grand Rapids, Nathan Dull of Reed City, and Derek Lyons of Greenville; brother, Larry (Barb) Dull of Jackson; sister, Violet (Bill) Shaughnessy of Clark Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his loving caregivers, Marie, Karissa, Robin, Riley and Susie. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Pat (Jan. 2015); sister, Valeria; and brother, Harold.
