Floyd Hauck, 70, of Beal City passed away peacefully Thursday, July 17, 2008, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 21, at St. Joseph The Worker Church in Beal City with Father Thomas J. McNamara presiding, Father Melvin Fox concelebrating, and Deacon Larry Fussman assisting. The family will receive friends at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. and again in the gathering room at St. Joseph Church on Sunday from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Visitation continues on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph The Worker School. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. Floyd was born March 13, 1938, in Isabella County, the son of Ragolt J. and Rosa M. (Fox) Hauck. Floyd graduated from Beal City High School in 1956 and served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963. He married Mary Beth Schafer on Oct. 26, 1963 at St. Joseph Church. As a lifelong farmer of beef and seed, his family farm celebrated its Centennial in 2006. Floyd was a member of numerous organizations including the Beal City Board of Education from 1965-1977 of which he served as president, the Michigan Foundation Seed Board, Cattlemans Association, Michigan Crop Improvement Association, and Beal City Business Association. He belonged to St. Joseph Parish and the Knights of Columbus Council 3651. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, traveling, going for coffee with friends, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Floyd is survived by his wife, Mary Beth of Beal City, four children, Michael (Mary) Hauck and Gary (Kerry) Hauck, both of Beal City, Brenda (John) Lynch of Mentor, OH, and Lori (Scott) Apple of Elwell; 11 grandchildren, Emily and Erica Hauck, Miranda and Austin Hauck, Lauren, John Connor, and Luci Lynch, and Jake, Jozzie, Olivia and David Apple; brother-in-law, Randy (Joyce) Schafer of Beal City; two nephews, Chad (Jodi) Schafer and Brian Schafer; niece, Tara (Don) Soules; and three great-nieces.
