Frances R. Lindsay

Frances Lindsay, 94, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Fayetteville, NC, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at her home. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Haymaker of Maranatha Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in LaFayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville, NC. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice or Maranatha Baptist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. She was born Aug. 5, 1920, in Logan, WV, daughter of the late George and Willie (Vernon) Ramey. She married Russell Lindsay on June 7, 1966 at Crab Orchard Baptist Church in Raleigh County, WV. She was an elementary school teacher in West Virginia, retiring in 1976. Frances is survived by her daughter, Ina Ray of Trenton, NC; her niece, Barbara Wentworth of Mt. Pleasant; great-nieces and nephew, Robin (Steve) Stressman of Mt. Pleasant, Melissa (Randy) Strong of Belle River, Ontario and Joe (Deb) Wentworth of Mt. Pleasant; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell; five siblings, James Buster, Frank, Bill, Georgia Canada, and Jesse Lipscomb.
