Frances E. Zuker, 96, of Grand Rapids and formerly of Beal City died Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at Porter Hills Presbyterian Village in Grand Rapids. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 13, at St. Joseph The Worker Church in Beal City with Father John Cotter presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Frances was born Nov. 22, 1908, in Beal City, the daughter of Frank and Adele (Cler) Bauer. She married Joseph Zuker. Some of her favorite pastimes were gardening, which she was able to do until age 93, cooking, crocheting, and playing cards. Family was also important to Frances. She leaves behind ten children, Ed (Doris) Zuker of Mt. Pleasant, Mary Jane (Mac) Robinson of Belleville, Elizabeth Ann (Bill) Mueller of Grand Ledge, Theresa (Bruce) Phillips of Lowell, Edna May Tiffany of Grand Rapids, Virginia (Rolland) Keller of Auburndale, Fla., James (Geri) Zuker of Sumner, Connie (Mark) McChesney of Orange City, Fla., Lee (Pam) Zuker of Ithaca, and Mike (Nancy) Zuker of Mt. Pleasant; 44 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and one brother, Dick (Marge) Bauer of Traverse City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; daughter, Eileen Quinlen; sisters, Angie Martin and Ann Klien; and brothers, Frank, Carl, Raymond and Henry.
