Frank Frick joined his beloved wife, Luella, Saturday, June 8, 2024, at his home in Vestaburg, surrounded by loved ones. Frank was born on the family farm in Isabella County, Michigan on November 9, 1928. He is the son of Swiss immigrants, August and Hedwig (Ruess) Frick who settled in Mt. Pleasant. He was welcomed into the home by elder siblings, August, Otto, Eugene, Carl. He was later joined by younger siblings, Rose Marie and Clara. He graduated from St. Philomena High School in Beal City. On May 20, 1950, he married the love of his life, Luella Simmer, at St. Philomena Catholic Church. Their marriage was blessed with seven daughters: Deborah Anne, Connie Lou, Bonnie Lou, Nancy Rose, Luanne Marie, Mary Ann, and Kristina Louise. Frank was employed by Central Michigan University as a food buyer for 31 years, retiring in 1989. Even as a young boy, he cared for animals and birds. He enjoyed playing cards, winning at Bingo, traveling, and socializing with family and friends. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish and strong supporter of Sacred Heart Academy. He was a devoted husband to Luella for 64 years. Frank is survived by his daughters, Deborah Cary of Vestaburg, Connie (Marty) Quillen of Clio, Bonnie (Ken) Gibson of Crestview, FL, Nancy (Mike) Zuker of Longwood, FL, Luanne (Pat) Harte of Portland, Mary Ann (Jamie) Haering of Lansing, and Kristena Frick of Lansing; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sister, Clara Frick of Clare; in-laws, Richard Wilson of Alpena and Marlene Frick of Monroe; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Luella; sons in-law, Spencer Cary and Dennis Focken; siblings and spouses, August and Norma Frick, Otto and Anne Frick, Eugene Frick, Carl Frick and wives Dolores and Ruth, and Rose Marie Wilson. A Funeral Mass for Frank will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Loren Kalinowski presiding. Rite of Committal will be in Calvary Cemetery followed by a luncheon in Lincoln Reception Center. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. with the Vigil Service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Academy Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
