He was born March 23, 1956, in Portsmouth, Virginia, son of the late Franklin and June (Williamson) Roe. Franklin grew up in Houston, Delaware. On December 28, 1991, Franklin married Bobbie Head in Waterford, Michigan. He served in the Army National Guard and was employed by several HVAC companies including Doerr of Mt. Pleasant, Martin in Clare, and Brubaker in Midland. He retired in 2013. Franklin enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and was often accompanied by his faithful canines, Luckie Dog and Doc Holliday. More than anything, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and just being a father and handyman to his children. Franklin is survived by his wife, Bobbie; five children, Andrew Burke of Baltimore, John Burke of Philadelphia, Michael (Jamie) Overby of Lake, Treka Mason of Walled Lake, and Jessi Roe (Francisco Sanchez) of Weidman; two step children, Autem (Jerald) Putnam of White Lake and Jacob (Jennifer) Nance of Fenton; grandchildren, Emily and Brittany Dice, Joshua Erickson, Caleb Roe, Emma and Anthony Carney, Isabella Overby and Michael Overby II, and Avani Sanchez and Francisco Sanchez Jr.; and siblings, Garry Roe of Mt. Pleasant, and Peggy (Rob) Valdesere of Delaware; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Franklin's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 18, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Pruitt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Following the service, all are invited to a luncheon in Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home). He will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Weidman. Franklin was a huge advocate for missions and, as such, the family has designated the memorial contributions be made to Glory House International Ministries or to Good News International Ministries.
