Franklin Thomas Walton Sr., 63, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 27, 2017. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow in Chippewa Township Cemetery concluding with a luncheon at the funeral home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Frank was born February 12, 1954, in Garden City, Michigan, son of Franklin D. and Carol (Smith) Walton. He married Rita M. Wright October 10, 1972, in Reseda, California. Frank has been in tree service his entire life. Some of his first jobs in California included celebrities such as, Vincent Price, Elvis Presley, Carol Burnett, Jim Neighbors and many more. He was owner and operator of F & K (Frank & Kids) Tree Service in Mt. Pleasant. Frank is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rita; four children, Christina Walton of Mt. Pleasant, Frank (Michelle) Walton Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Thomas Walton of Mt. Pleasant, and Jesse Walton of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Alyssa, Micah, and Makiyah, Preston, Peyton, and Paris; his mother, Carol Smith of Shepherd; four siblings, Brenda (Bill) Pearlman of Battle Creek, James Walton of Daytona Beach, FL, Steven Walton of Arizona, and Robert Walton of Daytona Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Connie Walton of Newton, IL; good friend, Mark Lownsbery; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Franklin D. Walton; infant grandson, Mika Wagner; and two siblings, Linda Walton and Dale Walton.
