Gail Fritz, 55, of Shepherd, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at her residence. Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., Mt. Pleasant, with Pastor Chuck Marckel III officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the service begins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to wishes of the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Gail was born Dec. 29, 1954, in Lansing, the daughter of the late Arthur Earl and Violet Mae (Smith) Fritz. She graduated from Shepherd High School in 1973 and worked as a secretary for a number of medical offices. Some of Gails favorite pastimes were gardening and scrapbooking. She loved singing and playing the piano, but mostly, she loved babies, especially her own grandchildren. Gail was a member of First Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant where she was very active. She will be remembered as a very selfless and giving person. Gail is survived by three children, Nichole (Jeremy) Howard of Shepherd, Paul (Beki) Clark of Grand Rapids, and Heather (Keith) Kellstrom of Chesterfield; seven grandchildren, Owen, Gideon, and Silas Howard, Zoe and Piper Clark, and Regan Kellstrom and baby to-be-born, Tatum Kellstrom; five siblings Arthur (Sarah) Fritz of Grand Rapids, Wendy Jo (Daniel) Clark of Shepherd, Earl (Deb) Fritz of Vestaburg, Barbara (Tony) Askew of Missouri, and Sara (Tony) Derscheid of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother, Eric John Fritz.
