Gary Curtis, 72, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on December 8, 2020, in Zephyrhills, FL.
Gary was born on July 14, 1948, son of the late Roy and Lorene Barrett Curtis.  Gary graduated from Cedar Lake Academy in 1967; he then received his BS from Atlantic Union College in South Lancaster, MA.  Gary married the love of his life, Sue Mercer, on June 6, 1976, in Mount Vernon, Ohio. They lived in California for 26 years before moving to Michigan in 2012. Gary was a member of Mt. Pleasant Seventh Day Adventist Church and a faithful Christian. He enjoyed traveling, always took a yearly vacation, and discovered "cruising" was his favorite. Gary was an avid coin collector, a licensed pilot, and he enjoyed the outdoors and working in the woods.  He greatly cherished his dog, Frankie. Gary is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sue Curtis; brothers, Ronald (Laurie) Curtis of Fowler, Lynden (Juanita) Curtis of Edmore; many nieces and nephews; three stepsisters; and beloved dog Frankie. He is preceded in death by both parents; step-mother, Ruth Oswald Gail Curtis; infant siblings, Glenn Curtis and Janet Curtis and one stepsister. Services will be held privately at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2020, with pastor Corey Herthel officiating and will be live streamed on the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home Facebook page. Pickard Road, Mt. Pleasant, Mi 48858).  Envelopes will be available at funeral home.
