Gary Hauck, 56, of Beal City, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Woodland Hospice House with his family by his side. Gary was born on August 22, 1966, in Mt. Pleasant to Floyd F. and Mary Beth (Schafer) Hauck. He was welcomed into the home by his older brother, Michael and would later be joined by his younger sisters, Brenda and Lori. He graduated from Beal City High School in 1985 and in 2022, was named Homecoming Grand Marshall. Gary married the love of his life, Kerry A. Stacey, on January 2, 1993, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City. He farmed most of his life alongside his brother Michael. In addition, Gary drove bus for Beal City Public Schools and even owned "Old School Custom Woodworking", specializing in kitchen cabinets. Gary could make nearly anything when it involved wood. Some of his notable works included the Altar (with the help of his friend, Dominic Finnerty), the Baldachin (the structure surrounding the tabernacle), and the Ambo, all at St. Joseph Church. His pride and joy was the custom bar he built in his basement. Spending time with family and friends in "Gary's Bar" gave him great joy. He also enjoyed running, golfing, and music. His love for music put him in the spotlight with various bands over the years, most notably with "Foolish Dreams" and more recently, "Section 13" with his son, Austin, and sister, Lori. He served on church committees and shared his time and talents in the church choir. More than anything, Gary loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Kerry; children, Miranda (Brandon) Stressman of Shepherd and Austin Hauck of Beal City; grandson, Connor Stressman; mother, Mary Beth Hauck of Beal City; siblings, Michael (Mary) Hauck of Beal City, Brenda (John) Lynch of Cleveland, OH, and Lori (Scott) Apple of Alma; parents in-law, Neil and Pat Stacey of St. Louis; sister in-law, Kelly Stacey of Mt. Pleasant; brother in-law, Ty Stacey of St. Louis; and 13 nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his father, Floyd Hauck in 2008. A Funeral Mass for Gary will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City with Father Thomas Held as celebrant and Father Thomas McNamara as concelebrant. Following the committal at St. Joseph Cemetery, all are invited to join the family for a meal at the Beal City Knights of Columbus Hall. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 4-7:30 p.m. with the Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues on Tuesday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, St. Joseph Church, or Woodland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. To sign the online guest book or leave a condolence for the family please visit www.CharlesRLux.com.
