Gary "Woody" Lee Woodward

Gary "Woody" Woodward, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Clare, Michigan. Gary was born March 13, 1941, in Charlotte, Michigan, son of the late Harvey and Leona (Buys) Woodward. He graduated from Lansing Sexton High School in 1959 and, that same year, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served during Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1963. On February 27, 1965, Gary married Linda Barnes in Lansing. Gary worked for the Board of Water and Light in Lansing for over 15 years. He then became a full-time dairy farmer, retiring in 2002. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, and socializing with friends. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren. Gary leaves behind his three children, Duane Woodward of Edmore, Bryan Woodward of Sumner, and Kim (Paul) Faber of Rosebush; 12 grandchildren, Morgan, McKayla, Travis, Brandon, Trevor, Ayden, Madison, Lucas, Illore, Estell Woodward, Brenda, and Heather (Blake Hulliberger) Faber; great granddaughter, Kennedy; and sister, Joann Dilts of Lansing. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Linda; and brother, Ronald Woodward. Gary's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 19, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Following the funeral, a luncheon will be in Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home). Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
