George Ford, 88, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Monday, May 21, 2007 at Central Michigan Community Hospital A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation or Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. George was born Feb. 22, 1919, in Detroit, the son of George M. and Laura (Schick) Ford. He married Kathleen Coffin on May 21, 1949, at St. James Catholic Church in Ferndale. From 1941-1945 he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed by Burroughs Adding Machine for 38 years, now know as Unisys Computers. He retired in 1979 and moved to Mt. Pleasant from Redford Township. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, the Mt. Pleasant Moose Lodge, and was a very active member at the Commission on Aging. He is survived by his daughter, Katie (Ronald) Beaulieu of Mt. Pleasant; two grandchildren, Allison and Elliott Beaulieu; a sister-in-law, Amy Ford of Windsor, Ontario; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kaye in 1999; and two brothers, Tyrus and Fred Ford.
