Gladys E. Sawmick

Gladys Sawmick, 68, of Grand Rapids passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids MI. A Funeral Service for Gladys will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Pastor Doyle Perry presiding and special guest Charles Nahwegahbo. Burial will take place at Denver Township Cemetery after the service. A luncheon will follow the service at the Tribal Gym. The gym will be available starting at 12 p.m. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Friday from 6-9 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to service. Memorial contributions may be made to wishes of the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Gladys was born Nov. 9, 1947, in Bay City, daughter of the late George and Elsie (Wasaquam) Sawmick. Gladys is survived by the father of her children, Leroy Hall; children, Loretta Hall, Leroy Hall II, Leah Fernandez, Rena Hall, and Larissa Hall; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Daniel (Margo) Sawmick, Samson Sawmick, Jeremy (Shawn) Sawmick, and Zachary Sawmick; sisters, Yvonne (Bruce) Dyer, and Michelle (Jose) Penna; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; George and Elsie (Wasaquam) Sawmick, siblings, Romona Rodreguiez, Ralph Sawmick, and Gregory Sawmick.
