Granville D. Smith

Granville Smith, 73, of Shepherd and formerly of Detroit, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Woodland Hospice. His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with his sister, Carol Smith officiating. His ashes will be interred at Chippewa Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Granville was born March 13, 1938, in Kevil, KY, son of the late Hugh and Magdalene (Ramey) Smith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a truck driver in Belleville. Granville is survived by six children, Angie Smith, twins, Dana and Donna Miranda, Christy Berro, Cassandra Smith, and Brandon Smith; eleven grandchildren; two grandsons; one sister, Carol Smith; and one brother, Kenneth Smith. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ann Smith; and brother, Willard Smith.
