Gwendolyn Faith Shunk

Gwendolyn Faith Shunk, age 72, of Harrison, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Mid Michigan Woodland Hospice near Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Gwen was born on April 17, 1944 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Lloyd Albert and Val-Jean Marian (Sheffer) Derwin. Gwen enjoyed life at Little Long Lake, where she liked her flowers and enjoyed painting, in both oils and pastels. Survivors include her children: Laurie and Allyn Skinner of Brocton, NY, Judy and Arnaud Preieur du Perray of Katy, TX, James and Maria Shunk of Chicago, IL, Phil Shunk and Ryan Shunk, both of Harrison, MI. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren; sisters Billie Merrill of Burton, MI and Donetta McQueen Franklin. She was preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Andrea Dawn Ross. Memorial services will take place on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 3 pm from the Rowley Funeral Home, 330 S. University Ave., Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858 with Fr. Don Henkes of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating. A second service, to be held at Gwens home on Little Long Lake will be announced when details are complete. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the family.
