Harold Moline, 78, of Mt. Pleasant passed away peacefully Saturday, August 18, 2007 at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne and Deacon Larry Fussman co-presiding. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. There will be a vigil service at 7:30 p.m Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation continues at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the Mass begins. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church, Commission on Aging, or Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Harold was born April 16, 1929, in Lansing, the son of Harold I. and Bernice (Lansing) Moline. He married Rita Barz April 24, 1948 at Sacred Heart. He was a scoutmaster of troop 620 in Clare for a number of years and enjoyed camping with the scouts at canoe camp number three. His love of the outdoors led to many outings with his family at their cabin on the Muskegon River. Harold was employed by Consumers Energy for 37 years. But one of his greatest enjoyments was volunteering. Most notably, in 1999 he was bestowed the honor of volunteer of the year from the Commission on Aging He loved Sacred Heart Parish and for a period of three years was in charge of the ushers. He also belonged to the Worship Commission and gave many useful suggestions including his recommendation that women also become ushers, which today they are. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and had spent many years volunteering with Toys for Tots. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Rita; seven children, Steven (June) Moline of Midland, Thomas (Dawn) Moline of Royal Oak, Terry (Debra) Moline of Alma, Sheryl (Doug) Caswell of Holland, Gary (Kymberlee) Moline of Belmont, Douglas (Sherry) Moline of Sparta, and Dennis (Kimberley) Moline of Rockford; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and his half-sister, Mary Moline of Alaska. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Barbara Murphy.
