Harold M. Schumacher, 86, of Beal City died Thursday, February 16, 2006 at The Wooden Rocker in Mt. Pleasant. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at St. Joseph The Worker Church in Beal City with Father John Cotter presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Friday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Commission on Aging, 3480 S. Isabella Rd., Mt. Pleasant MI 48858. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Harold was born July 17, 1919 in Isabella County, the son of Sylvester and Catherine (Witgen) Schumacher. He was a dairy farmer most of his life. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, a former member of St. Joseph Church, and the Knights of Columbus Council 3651 in Beal City. He enjoyed playing cards and watching sports. Harold is survived by two brothers, Jerome (Vivian) Schumacher of Farwell and Mark (Joan) Schumacher of Edmore; one sister Rosalia Sally Rau of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters-in-law, Dolores June Schumacher of Beal City and Ila Schumacher of Clare; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Joseph, James, Bernard and Michael; and three sisters, Theresa Schumacher, Marie Schumacher and Louise Blanshan.
