Harvey Benjamin Westerby
Harvey Benjamin Westerby, age 84 of Myrtle Beach, S.C. (formerly of Lake Isabella, MI) passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017.
Harvey was born on May 23, 1933 in Holly, MI to Wilson and Irva (Wortman) Westerby. He grew up in the Holly area and attended the Howell area schools. On June 23, 1956 he married Noreta "Rita" Bartig in Webberville, MI. Harvey worked for the Fowlerville Lumber Company and he retired after more than 50 years of service. Woodworking, lawn care, volunteering for Commission on Aging "Meals on Wheels" was a few of Harvey's favorite pastimes but his most joyous part of life was sharing the Lord of his life with everyone he met. Harvey was a member of Chippewa Hills Baptist Church in Remus.
Harvey leaves his dear family to cherish his memory his wife, Noreta "Rita"; children, Bryan (Jeanne) Westerby, Brent Westerby, Suzanne (Greg) Stoffregen and Cheryl Westerby; grandchildren, Nicole (Keith) Elliott, Bryan "BJ" Westerby, Phillip (Sophia) Stoffregen, and Josiah Stoffregen; 2 great-grandchildren; sibling, Dollie Maas and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Wilson, George and Charles Westerby and sister, Ella Farmer.
A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Chippewa Hills Baptist Church with grandson, Pastor Phillip Stoffregen officiating. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Interment will immediately follow at the Bennett Cemetery in Sherman Township
Those wishing to express their sympathy are welcome to consider a contribution in Harvey's memory to the Chippewa Hills Baptist Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church and funeral home.
