Helen Jean Green

Helen Jean Green, age 66, of Manistee, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in Manistee. Helen was born on May 16, 1952 in Edmore, Michigan, the daughter of James Floyd and Annie Lena Luchene Green. Helen was employed as a cashier at the casinos and was a member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians. Helen is survived by her children, Joanne Green of Manistee and Norman Nichols, Jr. of Manistee; three grandchildren; three brothers, Albert Smith of California, James F. Green, Jr. of Mt. Peasant, and William T. Green of Manistee; and five sisters, Martha Edgar of Stockton, CA, Grace Smith of Modesto, CA, Violet Green of Mt. Pleasant, Donna Marie and Daniel Willems of Oviedo, Florida, and Mary Green Mott of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters, Joanne Green, Anna Roney, and Laura Sumpter. A celebration of Helens life will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. from the Rowley Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Mark O'Brien. Interment will be in Chippewa Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Homeward Bound Animal Shelter, 736 Paws Trail, Manistee, MI 49660.
