Helen Lehnert, 82, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. A Funeral Mass for Helen will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Loren Kalinowski presiding. Cremation will follow and her ashes will be buried in North Brinton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Lux Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 3 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Friday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Cancer Services or Woodland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Helen was born July 25, 1931, in Isabella County, daughter of the late Edward and Zena (Allbee) Olger. She married Dale Letson on June 18, 1949 in Coldwater Township. After his death she married Robert Lehnert on January 3, 1981 at Sacred Heart. She was employed by the Mt. Pleasant Regional Center for 29 ½ years where she retired as director of housekeeping in 1988. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and enjoyed sewing and quilting. The most important thing in her life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Helen is survived by two children, Steven (Charlene) Letson of Beaverton, OR and Pamela (Mark) Owen of Mt. Pleasant; four step-children, Major General Michael (Denise) Lehnert of Williamsburg, Maureen (Don) Neff of Millington, Virginia (Ira) France of Millington, and Sue Figgins of Ishpeming; five grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Geraldine Olger of Blanchard. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dale Letson and Robert Lehnert; son, Theodore Ted Letson; two brothers, Dick and Dewey Olger; and three sisters, Mae Theisen, Gertrude Wood and Delma Conley.
