Henry Walter Nutter, 92, of Mt. Pleasant died Saturday, January 11, 2003 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Following Henrys wishes, he has been cremated and no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Commission on Aging or to the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Henry was born Feb. 10, 1910, in Elizabeth, West Virginia, the son of Robert Walter and Bertha Agnes (Rawson) Nutter. He married Pauline Lucile Callihan April 5, 1931, in Mt. Pleasant. He moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1925 at the age of 15. He worked in the oil fields until 1939 and later worked at J. Straka Machine Shop and Midway Tool. Henry retired from the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 085 of Saginaw after a period spanning over 50 years. He was also a 50 year life member of the Mt. Pleasant Moose Lodge No. 195. Henry loved sports. He was an avid barefoot golfer and a true fan of the Detroit Tigers. He was instrumental in building the little league fields on the West Side. His favorite pastime was telling stories of years gone by to anyone who would listen. Henry loved his family and leaves behind a son, Terence Nutter of Sarasota, Fla.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Florence Patterson of Chula Vista, Cal. and Betty Wilson of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucile Nutter in 1985; a son, Nicholas Nutter; five brothers, Harold, Harvey, Robert, Lawrence and Richard; and two sisters, Genevieve Nutter and Nelly Archer.
