Hilda Luella Bailey, 79, of Mt. Pleasant died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at the Laurels in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Lux Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Clio at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Monday from 5-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Association of Michigan. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Luella was born Jan. 11, 1924, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Clarence and Lottie (Henry) Wright. She has been a resident of Isabella County since 1979, coming from Clio. Most recently she was employed at Central Michigan University in the Business Schools Job Training Placement Association for 1 ½ years and then retired. Prior to that she had worked for Reigle Funeral Home in Flint from 1960-1968 and Blanche Bekkerring Realtors from 1968-1973. She was also a secretary for George Burroughs Land Developer in Flint. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Luella is survived by two children, Christine (James) Engler of Mt. Pleasant and Bradford Morrish of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Erin Engler, J. J. Engler, Joshua Morrish, and Jessica Morrish; and a sister, Thelma Ackerman of Clio. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Carl and Earl Wright.
