Ida Pearl Patten

Ida Pearl Patten passed away on September 1, 2024, at the age of 83 in Mt Pleasant, MI. Born on February 24, 1941, Ida lived a life marked by devotion to her family and an enduring sense of humor and kindness.

Ida graduated from Remus Public Schools and spent many years working at Mt Pleasant Hospital. Later, she worked at the Soaring Eagle Casino as a Blackjack Dealer before her retirement. Her career was characterized by dedication and a commitment to serving others in her community.

Known for her witty and loving personality, Ida was deeply cherished by her family and friends. She was a dedicated grandmother who adored her grandchildren and took great joy in their lives. Her home was a testament to her passions; her bookshelves overflowed with literature, and her craft room was a vibrant space filled with ongoing projects. An avid garage sale and thrift store shopper, she also had a love for traveling, especially to sightsee lighthouses and lakes, and exploring off-the-beaten-path locales. Ida was also a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers, following their games with enthusiasm.

Ida is survived by her daughters, Diane (Ron) Robertson and family Mary Strong; grandchildren Amber (Matt) Guthrie and family, Krystal (Danny) Guthrie and family, Amy (Billy) Cornett and family, David Guthrie (cats) and family, Fayette Sawade (Devin) and family; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Annie Patten; siblings Russell, Gerald, Jack, Amber, Velma; son-in-law Michael Sawade; Son James Strong, great grandson Austin Kirby; and great-great-grandson David Parker Jr.
