Inez Anderson, 92, of Mt. Pleasant died Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at Central Michigan Community Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, July 27 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne and Father Thomas McNamara officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the Mass begins. Interment of the ashes will be in Calvary Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation or the Commission on Aging. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Lux Funeral Home. Inez was born February 28, 1911, in Port Huron, the daughter of Egerton and Antoinette Brigit (McCaffrey) Caraher. Much of Inezs enjoyment came from playing bridge, cross country skiing, golfing, sailing, and traveling with her husband in their Airstream. In addition, she was a volunteer reader for blind university students. She graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit and, after raising her family, took courses at Marygrove College in Detroit. Inez is survived by her daughter, Sonja Baumgarth of Mt. Pleasant; son, Dr. Melvin (Mary Lou) Anderson of Ludington; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and three sisters, Anne Green of Clarkston, Norma Daugherty of West Bloomfield and Vera Neighbors of Oldsmar, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, Melvin J. Anderson; brother, Egerton Bud Caraher; two sisters Alice Park and Mary Kinna; and her son-in-law, Dr. Ralph Baumgarth.
