Irene Turk, 76, of South Elgin, IL and formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016, at White Oak in South Elgin, IL. Cremation has taken place and her Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Don Henkes as celebrant. A luncheon will follow at Sacred Heart Parish Hall. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association. Envelopes are available at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. Irene was born June 9, 1939, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Maurice and Marjorie (Turnbull) Pety. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Parish where served as a lector and sang in the choir. Irene is survived by three children, Harry F. (Jeanine Sietz) Partridge III of Elgin, IL, Anne (Dale) Fluegel of Courtland, IL, and Amanda Gounaris of Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren, Harry Partridge IV and twins, Eve and Keith Partridge, Jerome Kostal III and Alexander Kostal, and Sophia Gounaris and Theodore Gounaris; siblings, Anne (Jack) Kopson, Lucille (Chris) Haas, Mary Madeline (Jim) Hicks, Evelyn (Herb) Lance, Gene (Joyce) Pety, David (Martha) Pety, and James (Christine) Pety; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Sister Beverly Pety and Sister Mary Bernadette.
