Jack L. Mason, 89, of Montgomery passed away Friday, December 14, 2018, at Royal View Retirement Community in Mecosta, MI. No services are scheduled at this time. Jack was born July 12, 1929, to Harley and Bertha (Moore) Mason in Frontier MI. He was a graduate of Montgomery High School. Jack married his high school sweetheart Charlene V. Kellogg in 1952. He joined the United States Army and served from 1950 to 1952. Jack worked prior to and after his military service with the New York Central Railroad and retired from Conrail after 42 years in 1991. Jack had a special interest in following the activities of his grand children and their families. He was a proud supporter of the United Methodist Church in Montgomery for over 60 years. Jack was an avid gardener, enjoyed golfing, and paid close attention to the stock market. He was a member of the Montgomery American Legion and memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Montgomery post at, 964 McCallum St, Montgomery, MI 49255. Jack is survived by two sons; Fredrick A. (Linda) Mason of Coldwater, MI, and John C. (Terrie) Mason of Mt. Pleasant, MI. Four Grandchildren; Aaron (Maeve) Mason, Adam (Linda) Mason, Kyle (Anneliese Fox) Mason, and Carrie (Brian) Rider, and six Great-Grand Children; Kendall, Avery, Jack, Henry, Lillian, and Charlie. Jack was preceded in death by his wife; Charlene Mason in 2017, parents, and two brothers; Leo and Olin Mason.
