Jack A. Spencer, 69, of Mt. Pleasant died suddenly Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at home. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 24, at Lux Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Richard Hilton officiating. Burial will be in Chippewa Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-9 p.m., Friday from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Jack was born September 17, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant the son of Harry and Martha (DeMoines) Spencer. He married Naomi Cook on November 26, 1960 in Mt. Pleasant. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1955 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving from 1956-1959. From 1959-1966 he worked at the Mt. Pleasant Regional Center. He retired from Dow Chemical after 29 years as a pipe fitter. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting and just being around nature. He loved NASCAR, sports, going to car shows, and his pets. But his greatest joy was being around his family. Jack is survived by his wife, Naomi of Mt. Pleasant; four children, Randall (Gina) Spencer of Shepherd, Jeffrey (Ana) Spencer of Mt. Pleasant, Mashelle (Dan) Mitchell of Shepherd, and Martha (John) Kenny of Shepherd; 10 grandchildren, Danyelle and Shantelle Spencer and Jennifer Heistand, Aaron Cook, Alisha, D.J. and Jacqueline (fianc, Marvin Henderson) Mitchell, and Johnny, Kayla and Kara Kenny; his brother, Earl J. (Betty) Spencer of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Lena (Marion) Ludwig and Shirley (Newell) Dennis, both of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters-in-law, Darlene Spencer of Fostoria and Betty Spencer of East Liverpool, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roy and Bill Spencer; and granddaughter, Kelsie Kenny.
