Jackie "Jack" Dean Draper
Jackie "Jack" Dean Draper, age 77, of Lake Isabella, returned to his heavenly home on Friday, December, 22, 2017 surrounded by his loving family, after fighting the complications of a long term illness.
Jack was born in LaGrange, Indiana on October 16, 1940 to Oliver and Julia (Wilson) Draper and grew up in Springport, MI, graduating from High School in 1959. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1959 to 1963. On September 2 nd , 1978 in St. Johns, MI Jack married Patricia Moon. Jack worked as an Industrial Electrician for several employers around the country, retiring from the Department of the Army-Bureau of Land Management in 1997.
In retirement, Jack loved spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed landscaping, gardening and canning ; he was also known for being a very mischievous character.
Jack is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Jack Draper, Ron (Kathy) Draper, Nicole (John) Draper-White and Scott (Tami) Draper; step-children, Connie (Patrick) Paez, Yvonne (Alan) Wilcox, Jeff (Christine) Pattison and Wendy (Gary) Bliss; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-children; and brother-in-law, Glen (Janet) Godfrey.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry, Ed and Jerry Draper and sister, Janet Godfrey.
Funeral services for Jack D. Draper will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Maier Family Funeral Home with Pastor Dar Blanshan officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. and one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Jack's memory may be made to the Commission on Aging of Isabella County. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
