Jacqueline was born July 15, 1924, in Port Washington, NY, the daughter of the late William and Janet (Singleton) Stewart. She married George Byron Paxton on March 6, 1944 in Brisbane Australia. She worked as an Estee Lauder consultant for a number of womens clothing stores during a 30 year span which included Gittlemans, The Country Shoppe, My Fair Lady, and, lastly, the Trillium from which she retired in 1995. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Womens City Club where she was active in the milk drive. An avid gardener, Jacqueline had a special passion for her roses, which numbered over 100 in her yard at home. She also liked reading, cooking, entertaining, traveling, music, theater, and the arts. She learned to fly an airplane at the age of 40 and even rode a motorcycle across the Mackinac Bridge. But more than anything, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Her daughter, Suzanne, thought her mother was the funniest person shed ever met. Jacqueline is survived by five children, Sandra (Walter) Kelly and Janet (John) Whitcomb, both of Fort Myers, FL, Stephen (Jane) Paxton of Grand Ledge, Catherine (John) Bryant of Ann Arbor, and Suzanne Paxton of Boston, MA; seven grandchildren, Lisa (James) Graves, Elizabeth Whitcomb, Stephen (Cheryl) Paxton, Rachel (Joseph) Schroeder, David (Mary Ann) Paxton, Isaac Paxton, and Catherine Bryant; eight great-grandchildren, Peyton, Paige, Perrin, Grant, Adeline, Jude, Nathan, and Luke; one great-grandchild due in June; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Paxton in 1977; and sister, Catherine Stewart in 1964.
