Jacquelyn Heintz, 61, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. A Funeral Mass for Jackie will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Loren Kalinowski as celebrant. A luncheon will immediately follow at Sacred Heart Parish Hall. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Monday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Academy Foundation or Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. Jackie was born Sept. 6, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of Russell and June (Bragg) Thering. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1973. She was employed by McCarthys Downtown Drugs as a pharmacy technician for over 30 years. Some of her favorite pastimes were spending her summers at Eight Point Lake, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, hosting and shopping garage sales, visiting the casino, and socializing with her friends. But more than anything she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and was a team leader on one of the funeral luncheon committees. On June 12, 2004, Jackie married Jeff Heintz in Mt. Pleasant. Jackie is survived by her husband, Jeff Heintz; mother, June Thering of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Melissa VanAlstine of Mt. Pleasant and Jessica (Charlie) Gross of Beal City; five grandchildren, Tucker, Easton and Wyatt VanAlstine and Camren and Kellen Gross; four step-daughters, Renee (Steve) Tomasello of Troy, Tracey (Mike) Johnson of Toledo, OH, Jessica (Scott) Hamilton of Leander, TX and Andrea Heintz of Mt. Clemens; nine step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; siblings, Dick (Debbie) Thering of Grand Blanc, Phil Thering of Mt. Pleasant, Barb (Tim) Proos of Bellaire, Jerry (Lynn) Thering of Mt. Pleasant, Mike (Amy) Thering of Pelham, AL, Bob (Kathy) Thering of Mt. Pleasant and Patty Rydahl (Brian Malski) of Clinton Township; She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Thering; sister, Janet Thering; nephew, Kevin Rydahl; niece Abby Lynn Thering; great-nephew, Gage Thering; and mother-in-law, Margaret Tat Heintz.
