James C. Nietzke

James Clayton Nietzke, 73, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at his home. Jim was born on Thursday, August 21, 1941 in Findley, Ohio, the son of John F. and Stella (Beck) Nietzke. Jim was a resident of Mt. Pleasant since 1970. He was employed as the lab manager and as a medical technologist for the former Davis Clinic for twenty five years. Jim was a member of the American Medical Technologist and the Mt. Pleasant Jaycees. Jim loved to sail and had his own sailboat on Lake Charlevoix for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf. He was a man who loved his church. He also loved his grandchildren. He was known as a kind and gentle man. Survivors include his son Jim and his daughter Joneil and Bill Cook all of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren Wyatt, Taylor and Austin. Also surviving is his sister Eleanor Kassner of West Bloomfield, Michigan. He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother Walter. Memorial services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church and will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Mt. Pleasant Community Foundations Community Impact Fund. Envelopes are available at the Rowley Funeral Home.
