Jane Anne Bufkin

Jane Anne Bufkin, age 65, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 2, 2025.

Born on March 24, 1960, in Peru, Indiana, Jane lived a life marked by perseverance, creativity, and deep love for her family. She graduated from the adult education program in Wyoming, Michigan, and later pursued studies at Central Michigan University from 2012 to 2016—an accomplishment that brought her great pride.

Jane found spiritual comfort and connection in the welcoming community of Mt. Pleasant Nazarene Church, where she was especially moved by the caring sermons of Pastor Jon Croft. She found joy with many new friends at Commission on Aging during Food with Friends and bingo time.

A creative soul, Jane found joy in making jewelry, crafting, and playing cards. But above all, her greatest happiness came from the time spent with her beloved children. Her love for Amanda, Steve, and Jennifer was unwavering and will continue to shine in their lives.

Jane is survived by her children, Amanda Rivers, Steve Rivers, and Jennifer Rivers; domestic partner Steven Rivers; and her three beloved fur babies Brian, Odette and Wonder. She was preceded in death by her father, Billy.

A memorial service to celebrate Jane's life will be held on Thursday, April 10 at 4:00pm at the Mt. Pleasant Nazarene Church, located at 1980 South Lincoln Road, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858. Refreshments will be provided after the service.

Her warmth, creativity, and love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and all who knew her.
