Jane Marie Sweeney (Campbell)

Jane Campbell Sweeney, 71, died March 17, 2023 following a series of health challenges over the last few years.

Jane Sweeney had a larger than life personality and wicked sense of humor. She was the life of every party and loved to spend time with family and her many, many friends celebrating with food, drink and playing cards or Shut the Box. Jane graduated from Mt Pleasant Sacred Heart in 1969 and was a lifelong Mt Pleasant resident. Jane worked for many years as everyone's favorite cashier at Meijer where she handily won "Cashier of the Year" many times. You could  count on a friendly conversation if you chose her lane! She always had a warm smile and a sympathetic listening ear for anyone who needed it. She loved a bargain and spent countless hours in thrift stores, usually buying things for others. Her laughter and joy will be sorely missed.

Jane was preceded in death by her father Myles Campbell, her mother Freda Campbell, her brother David Campbell, sister JoAnn McManus and brother-in-law Gerald Cappo. She is survived by her daughter Marie Sweeney Natzel, son-in-law Jeff Natzel and granddaughter Sydney Natzel as well as her siblings Jackie Fitzsimmons (Larry), Sharon Hartman (Earl), Janet Cappo, Larry Campbell (Kay) and Denise Harris (Rick) and many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Jane's life will be held at 11am on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.  Immediately following service, all are invited to join the family for a luncheon in the Lincoln Reception Center (attached to funeral home).  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Promedica Hospice or PACE Central Michigan, envelopes are available at the funeral home.
