Janet M. Greenlees (Treischmann) 82, formally of Birmingham, MI, passed away September 18, 2022, at Green Acres in Mount Pleasant, MI with her family at her bedside. Janet was born on June 18, 1940, in Lafayette, IN to John D. and Louise Treischmann. The family moved to Alma, MI in 1945. She attended Alma Schools, graduating in 1958 from Alma High School. While in Alma she met and married the love of her life, James Greenlees, and moved to the Detroit area while Jim attended University of Detroit Dental School. Janet worked in the banking industry there while Jim finished his degrees in dentistry and orthodontics. Janet and Jim moved to Rochester Hills and Janet later moved to Mount Pleasant to live at Green Acres. While in Birmingham, Janet was a volunteer at Saint Joseph's Hospital. She always had an artistic flair, enjoying painting, architecture, sewing, needlepoint, gardening, and interior decorating. Her primary interest was making a beautiful home for she and Jim, where she loved to entertain family and friends. Janet is survived by her sisters, Joan Woods of Auburn, IN, Jean Northrup of Lakeland, FL, Jennifer (Larry) Gillis of Shepherd, MI; brother, John (Cheryl) Treischmann of Spring Hill, FL; 17 nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Jim; brother-in-law Tom Greenlees; sister-in-law, Dorcas Greenlees; niece, Kellie Greenlees; and nephew, Gary Woods. Per Janet's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service on October 22, 2022, at Desmond Funeral Home in Birmingham, MI from 10am – 12pm. In lieu of flowers, Janet requested that donations be made to the James C. & Janet M. Greenlees Endowed Scholarship Fund at Alma College. The family wishes to thank Janet's wonderful caregivers at the Woodland Hospice, Hospice of Central Michigan, and Green Acres of Mount Pleasant.
