A Celebration of Life will be observed at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 24, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with John Mark Thomas (grandson in-law) officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow at Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home). Janet was born April 6, 1935, in Lake Orion, Michigan, daughter of the late Charles Ira and Claudia Ruth (Preston) Guinnip. She married Robert Hoffman on May 4, 1952, at Central Methodist Church in Pontiac, Michigan. When her daughters where young, she was a Girl Scout leader for six years. Her favorite pastimes have included swimming, jet-skiing, performing skits, antiquing, card playing, bocci ball, and frequenting casinos. While she enjoyed those activities, nothing was dearer to her heart than her family. In retirement, Janet and Bob have been spending their winters in Florida where she was active in both communities, volunteering as the activity director of Breezy Hill Retirement Park in Pompano Beach and Spring Creek Village of Bonita Springs. Fun loving and full of life, she will be missed by all who knew her. Janet leaves behind her husband of 66 years, Robert Hoffman; five children, Dale (Robin) Hoffman of Lake, Debbijo (Tim) Pung of Weidman, Kelli Klumpp of San Diego, CA, Kari (James) Eichstadt of Cedar, and Jana (Duane) Schafer of Beal City; the huggie grandma of 16 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gilbert Guinnip; and great grandson, Kellen Berkemeier. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Woodland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
