Janet Jerri Theisen

Janet Theisen, 70, of Mt. Pleasant passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at UF Health The Villages Hospital, Florida.  Janet was born July 18, 1951, in Alma, Michigan, daughter of the late Clarence and Daisie (Merrifield) Moody.  A 1969 graduate of Midland High School, Janet married the love of her life, Eugene Theisen, September 12, 1970, at Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Pleasant.  Together they raised their children, Jennifer, Ken, and Carrie in Mt. Pleasant.  After nearly 25 years of employment at the Downtown Drug store in Mt. Pleasant, Janet retired in the early 2000's.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and enjoyed helping with its funeral luncheons.  She enjoyed sewing and belonged to a card club.  Janet often traveled with Gene and purposely avoided visiting the same spot twice. More than anything Janet loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Janet is survived by her husband, Gene; children, Jennifer Sembach, Ken (Darlyn) Theisen, and Carrie (Tim) Muller all of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Marcia (Steven) Bowers, Connor Sembach, Abby Theisen, Alex Theisen, Nick Theisen, Kristopher Boge and Lee Muller; great grandchildren, Evan Sembach and Jeremy and Jace Bowers; brothers, Jim (Terri) Moody, Rob Moody, and Steve (Sandra) Moody; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by both parents; and daughter, Marcia Theisen. Cremation has taken place.  A Funeral Mass for Janet will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Loren Kalinowski as celebrant.  The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to Mass. Following Mass, all are invited to a luncheon in Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home). Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Academy Foundation or Save the Children (www.savethechildren.org). Envelopes will be available at the church and funeral home.
