Janice E. Mcguire

Janice E. McGuire, 60, of Mt. Pleasant passed away September 6, 2003 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Abused Children Foundation. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Janice was born Dec. 1, 1942, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Erling and Donna (McConnell) Eckland. She married Dennis L. McGuire Jr. On Oct. 2, 1971, in Midland. That marriage was later blessed at Sacred Heart Church after she joined the catholic faith. Janice was a clerk and Meijer and Rite-Aid, but most of her life centered around her children and grandchildren. Janice is survived by her husband, Dennis McGuire of Mt. Pleasant; six children, Deborah Knopp of Shepherd, Robin (Steve) Fournier of Vassar, James (Veronica) Knipe of Metamora, Ind., Monica McGuire of Plainwell, Denise McGuire of St. Joseph and Ed (Danielle) McGuire of Cheboygan; 16 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; her mother, Donna Reynolds of Shepherd; four brothers, Robert (Luann) Sower of Shepherd, George (Melody) Eckland of St. Louis, Don (Renae) Eckland of Mt. Pleasant and Jon Eckland of Shepherd; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Erling Eckland.
