Janice Lucille Vogel

Janice Vogel, 84, of Rosebush, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at home with her family by her side. She was born May 8, 1936, in Remus, Michigan, daughter of the late Harold "Sam" and Frances (Stamper) Fountain. She graduated from Remus High School and then received her nursing degree from Mercy School of Nursing in Toledo, OH. On August 23, 1958, she married Jerome "Jerry" Vogel at St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus. Janice worked many years at the Clare Hospital, mostly in obstetrics. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish in Clare and enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, puzzles, and children. Janice is survived by her children, David Vogel of Williston, ND, Joan Vogel of Beaverton, Donna Fox of Rosebush, Judith (Dennis) Haag of Lenox Township, Deborah (Charles) Novak of Longmont, CO, Gerard (Linda) Vogel of Mt. Pleasant, Francis (Sandra) Vogel of Winn, Phillip (Amy) Vogel of Rosebush, Barbara (Robert) Vandaveer of Clare, Bernard (Anna) Vogel of Mt. Pleasant, Marilyn (Gregory) Gray of Clare, Matthew (Kimberly) Vogel of Mt. Pleasant, Marie (Don) Johnson of Daphne, AL, Denise Vogel of Rosebush, and Jane West of Washburn, ME; 38 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; six sisters, Jean (Larry) Perry of Remus, Mary Fountain of Muskegon,  Patricia (Jim Hanafin) Fountain of White Cloud, Maureen Fountain of Arlington, VA, Nina Fountain of Kingstowne, VA, and Teri Cox of Falls Church, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jerry Vogel; daughter in-law, Pamela Vogel; son in-law, Thomas Fox; great granddaughter, Rebecca Haag; and brother, Brother Fr. Michael Fountain. A private Mass for Janice will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 5, at Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Cecilia site in Clare. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Lawrence Seminary in Mt. Calvary, WI, or St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, MT. Envelopes will be available at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home.
