Jason Taylor, 49, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017, at his home. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. The funeral and committal service at Riverside Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or charity of choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Jason was born July 18, 1968, in Mt. Pleasant son of Clyde Edwin and Ann Louise (Kurtz) Taylor. A 1986 graduate of Beal City High School, Jason was employed for 17 years, many of those as a utility operator, for Union Townships waste water treatment facility. He was previously employed by Mears Engineering in Rosebush and Michigan Micro-Tech. Dedicated to his family, work, friends, and the land on which he grew up, Jason made sure everyone got a fair shake at life. He was a kind and gentle man that remembered and acknowledged special occasions of his family and friends. He enjoyed gardening (sharing his produce), fishing, and both the summer and winter seasons alike. He took great pride in his yard and home. Jason is survived by his parents, Clyde and Ann Taylor of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Jennifer Schafer of Mt. Pleasant; special companion whom he loved, Joslyn Sainsbury of Mt. Pleasant; will be missed and loved by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his canine girls, Gyp and Deva. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gaylord and Velma Taylor; and maternal grandparents, Herman and Louise Kurtz. For those who knew him, our lives will be forever altered by the passing of this kind, loyal, and giving young man.
