Jay E. ''Ed'' Brown, 65, of Rosebush, passed away at his home, Thursday, April 4, 2002. His funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant with Father Robert Byrne officiating. Burial will be in St. Henry Cemetery in Rosebush. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Saturday from 6-9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2-9 p.m. There will be a vigil service Sunday evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitaiton continues at the church on Monday from 10-11 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Corporate Angel Network or MidMichigan Hospice of Midland. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Ed was born September 13, 1936, in Shepherd, the son of Eugene R. and Regina (Schimmoller) Brown. He married Patricia A. Wentworth July 18, 1959 at St. Henry Church. Ed started in business with a mobile feed grinder. He eventually progressed to owning and operating grain and fertilizing plants in Delwin, two located in Rosebush and one in Shepherd. After work, Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling. He also enjoyed auction sales, antique tractors, and his morning coffee groups. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Beal City Knights of Columbus Council 3651. Ed is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia of Rosebush; two sons, Ronald (Mindy) Brown of Rosebush and Dale (Jill) Brown of Rosebush; five grandchildren, Amanda Bowers, Erica Brown, Austin Vanas, Ryan Brown and Corey Brown; two sisters, Reva (Nathon) Whitford of Dallas, Texas and Mary (Gerald) Kralisk of Detroit; seven brothers-in-law, James (Joyce) Wentworth of Weidman, Bernard (Sharon) Wentworth of Rosebush, Richard (Beverly) Wentworth of Auburn, Charles (Sue) Wentworth of Ocala, Florida, Donald (Phyllis) Wentworth of Mt. Pleasant, Theodore (Rose) Wentworth of Sterling Heights, and Michael (Patty) Wentworth of Clare; two sisters-in-law, Connie Wentworth of Mt. Pleasant and Alma Wentworth of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Kevin; and two brothers-in-law, Larry and Dan Wentworth.
