Jay Charles Strawn Jr.

Jay Charles Strawn Jr., 51, died August 24, 2020, at McLaren Central Michigan. He was born February 15, 1969, in Phoenix Arizona, son of Jay Charles Strawn Sr. and Helen Elaine (Underwood) Strawn. Jay moved from Arizona in 1998 to become a resident of Stanton MI and he remained a resident of Montcalm County for 22 years.  Jay is survived by his son, Rylee Coleman Strawn; daughters, Lindsey Jill Strawn and Regan Lynn (Western); mother and stepfather, Helen Elaine Strawn and Dave William Packer Jr.; brothers, Larn (Amanda) Strawn and Lloyd (Kaycie) Strawn; sister, Julie Strawn; and many nieces and nephews.  Jay was preceded in death by his father, Jay Charles Strawn Sr. Jay was passionate about the outdoors. He spent much of his time hunting and fishing in the county's many lakes, streams, rivers, and state game areas. Jay was even more passionate about sharing his outdoor adventures with his son Rylee. Jay and Rylee were outdoors partners and together they shared many successful hunts and fishing trips. Another passion of Jay's that we all enjoyed was his cooking. Jay cooked fantastic meals for his family. Cooking was a skill Jay mastered as a young man and he honed throughout his life. Jay loved to share his cooking with his family and many friends.  Jay was loved by so many; his passing is sudden, and he will be dearly missed. A gathering for prayer, remembrance and celebration of Jay's life will be held outdoors at Tower Riverside Park on Saturday August 29 at 1:00 PM. Tower Riverside Park is located on the Flat River in Greenville MI. Join us on the river and bring a fishing pole as we honor Jay. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Montcalm Alano Club (MAC) to which Jay was affiliated.
