Jean Minelli, 89, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Tendercare in Mt. Pleasant. A Funeral Mass for Jean will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at St. Marys University Catholic Church with Father Denis Heames presiding. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Lux Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant on Friday from 4-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Saturday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Minelli Family Endowed Scholarship through Central Michigan University. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Jean was born March 29, 1925, in Gladstone, MI, daughter of the late John Allen and Ethel (Smith) Reynolds. She married Ernest Minelli on Aug. 28, 1948 in Gladstone. She and Ernest were founding members of St. Marys University Parish. For many years she served on the Parish Council and was a lay minister. While her Parish was very important to her, nothing meant more to her than her family, who will miss her dearly. Jean is survived by three children, Mark (Deb) Minelli and Thomas Minelli, both of Mt. Pleasant and Leslie Minelli and partner Kathryn Pryor of Little Rock, AR; four grandchildren, Cady (Bryan) Haveman of Grand Haven, Gina (fiance Michael Collazo) Minelli of Clifton Park, NY, Michelle Minelli of Mt. Pleasant and John (Brittany) Minelli of Eagleville, TN; three great-grandchildren, Owen and Ben Haveman and Isabelle Chamberlain; two sisters, Nora Curtis of California and Carole (Herb) Vogel of Canton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest in 2011; brother, Jack; and sister, Natoma.
