Mom had style and she had grace. The flower garden was her space, and the kitchen was full of flavors from her stirring hand. She had patience and devotion, and could enjoy a scotch or a beer, if the notion. She loved her kids and loved the Lord and I bet she thanked Him daily for the sunrise and sunset. She always helped where she could but was very conscious not to intrude. She was a grandma through and through. She lived most of her life with her lover lost, yet never complained of its lonely cost. She was always nourished by the simple beauties of life. She was really tough as nails. And in passing, no worries of hell, as her table has been set with her husband and her Lord to adore her. Jeanne passed away Monday, December 13, 2021, at Green Acres Assisted Living in Mt. Pleasant. A Funeral Mass for Jeanne will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 16, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with her grandson, Father Daniel Lannen OSFS, as celebrant. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to Mass. Following, she will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Academy Foundation or pay it forward to someone in her honor. Jeanne was born September 29, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret "Mae" (Fouch) Buschle. In a few short years, opportunity brought the family, including her younger brother Bill, to Mt. Pleasant, when Jeanne's dad accepted an accounting position at Roosevelt Oil Company. She attended and proudly graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1948, even naming the school yearbook, Cor Jesu, and participated in many school activities. Jeanne then attended St. Lawrence School of Nursing in Lansing and practiced as a Registered Nurse for many years. She retired from Central Michigan University Health Services with over 25 years at that position. On July 7, 1951, Jeanne married James P. Lannen. A very happy family life followed including the births of seven children. They were very good years. On January 25, 1964, Jim passed away of natural causes and she embraced the nurturance of her family. Loving help was always available from her folks, the Buschles. Jeanne's survivors included her brother Bill (Rosilyn) Buschle of Alma; all seven of her children, Margi (Ron) Barnsdale of Williamston, Patrick (Lori) Lannen of Williamsburg, Thomas (Patsy) Lannen of Gulf Shores, AL, Rosemary (Greg) Baker of Westerville, OH, and Bill (Robin) Lannen, Shelli (Doug) Sias, and Tim (Judy) Lannen, all of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Nicole (Joe) Barfay, David (Becca) Dedrickson, Monica (Rob) Siedler, Liz Baker, Jill (Gregg) Lavengood, Maureen (Dan) Klein, Dr. Nick (Carmen) Lannen, Kylie (Scott Gauche) Lannen, Courtney (Brandon) Porter, Fr. Daniel Lannen OSFS, Patrick (Alexandra) Lannen, Dr. Emily (Dr. Tristan) Wilson, Elena Sias, Jennie (Robert) Arlt, Amanda Lannen, Ashley (Ed) Ball, Joel (Amanda) Mosher, and Jordan (Kristy) Mosher; and great grandchildren, Ava and Beckett Dedrickson, Luke and Sarah Barfay, Jack and Max Kindinger, Cooper Lavengood, Vasiliki Lannen, Effie and Phoebe Wilson, and Danica and Kyle Ball. Jeanne is further survived by many loving nieces and nephews from the Buschle and Lannen families. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim; parents, Al and Mae Buschle; granddaughter, Julia Sias; parents in-law, C.J. and Mary Lannen; brothers in-law, Joseph, Jude and John Lannen; and sisters in-law, Kay Dickie, JoAnn Fabiano-Withers, and Ruth Cotter-Gase. Additional thanks are sent to the many kind and loving hands of the staff at Green Acres Assisted Living where Jeanne spent four years.
