Jennie Lee Brenner

Jennie Brenner, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022, at McLaren Central Michigan in Mt. Pleasant. Jennie was born July 17, 1935, in Muskegon County, Michigan, daughter of the late Orville Russell and Myrtle Helen (Cook) Jordan. She was a stay-at-home mother, raising four children, and later worked as a foster grandparent in Newaygo for 15 years. She was so proud to receive her GED in 1976 in her early 40's. Jennie loved animals and enjoyed gardening, flowers, and painting. She leaves behind two children, Candie Fortino of Mt. Pleasant and Tina Brenner of Louisiana; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronald Boynton; daughter, Teresa Brenner; granddaughter, Julia Fortino; son in law, Jon Fortino; sisters, Alice Graham and Mary Whitten; and brother, Ernest "Bud" Jordan. Jennie's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
