Jennie Evalena Sprague, age 100, ofWeidman passed away Friday, June 6, 2014 at New Hope Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family.
Jennie was born to Edward and Bessie (Hammond) Teall October 8, 1913 in Coldwater Township. She was raised and attended school in Weidman. She married Roy D. Sprague June 4, 1932. Jennie was employed for General Telephone for 33 years as Office Manager. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, working crossword puzzles and playing cards and piano.
Jennie is survived by a son Ronny (Susan) Sprague; grandchildren, Jodi (Paul) Simmer, Pami (Glenn) Goodman, Jason Kremsreiter, Megan Kremsreiter , Amy (Thomas) Elkins, and Kimberly (John) Stanton; nine great-grandchildren, Heather (Dino) Caverson, Dean (Giles) Simmer, David (Bree) Simmer, Hali (Matthew) McRoberts, Gabriel and Harmon Goodman, John Stanton III, Trista and Thomas Elkins; and three great-great-grandchildren, Piper, Kadin and Nia.
Jennie was preceded in death by husband Roy D. Sprague; daughter, Sally; beloved daughter-in-law, Bonnie Sprague and sister-in-law, Theo Dent.
In keeping with Jennie's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held at the Weidman United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 10:00 A.M.with Pastor Scott B. Smith officiating. The family will greet friends from 9-10 am at the church prior to the service.
The family suggest memorial to New Hope Assisted Living or Woodland Hospice.
