Jerry Griffin, 72, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015, at home surrounded by his family. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 1, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the funeral home. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and on Monday one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice or to Mayo Clinic for cancer research. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Jerry was born April 9, 1943, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Dallas and June (Ousterhout) Griffin. A 1961 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Jerry married Ella M. Barrett on April 10, 1964 at First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant. He worked as a master plumber for Local 85 and owned and operated T & R Plumbing until he retired. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing, including his hunts at the Willie near Lake Isabella, traveling, and spending time at Townline Lake in Harrison. But most dear to him was the time he spent with his family. Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ella; two daughters, Tina (Kenneth) Rolling of Mt. Pleasant and Renee Griffin of Mt. Pleasant; one granddaughter, Alexis Rolling; two siblings, Tom Griffin of Houghton Lake and Marilyn (Barney) Pratt of Beaverton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
