Jesse M. Martinez

Jesse Martinez, 68, of Weidman passed away Friday, June 29, 2018, at his home. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Father Christian Tabares officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7 p.m. and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Veterans. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Jesse was born May 23, 1950, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Anastacio and Catalina (Ibarra) Martinez. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1969-1971 during Vietnam on the U.S.S. Sarsfield. He was employed by General Motors in Lansing for 30 years. His marriage to Anna Pitts on May 3, 1969 was blessed with two children, Jesse and Katrina. He later married Cindy Harless and together raised two sons, David and Adam. His favorite pastimes were fishing, gardening, riding his ATV, doing puzzles, and shopping at Northwoods in Pinconning. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and partner, dearly loved by his brothers and sisters. Jesse is survived by his partner, Anna; four children, Jesse (Brenda) Martinez of Lake Isabella, Katrina Stanley of Lake Isabella, David (Macy) Martinez of New Jersey, and Adam (Beverly Skeeter) Martinez; eight grandchildren, Jacob and Brittney, Tasha and Diego, Rory and Holden, and Jace and Elly; one great granddaughter, Mia Rose; four siblings, Rita Hard of Oklahoma, Toby (Billie) Martinez of Weidman, Maryann (Doug) Reava of Columbus, MS and Tony Martinez of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Tyrone Stanley; and siblings, Joseph Martinez and Gloria Delacruz.
