Jesusa C. Alanis, 61, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday, May 22, 2004 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at Lux Funeral Home with Deacon Larry Fussman of Sacred Heart Church officiating. Visitation is Thursday from noon until the service begins Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Rosebush. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Jesusa was born January 18, 1943, in Orange Grove, Texas, the daughter of Gorgonio and Sixta (Chaves) Alanis. Jesusa, Susie , moved to Michigan in the late 1960's with her brother, Gonzalo and sister-in-law, Elsie Sanders of Mt. Pleasant. She shared a part of her life with Donald L. to whom she stayed good friends with over the years. She was a friend to many Native Americans on the reservation, where she spent part of her life. She brought a smile to everyone she met and will always be a part of our lives and never forgotten. Shell be deeply missed by all of us. We love you Susie. Jesusa is survived by three sons, Reyes HinoJosa (Karen Luce), Henry HinoJosa (Kelly Smith), and Daniel Leaureauz (Raquel Fritzgerald) all of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Maria Delma HinoJosa and Sylvia HinoJosa both of Texas; five brothers, Fransico Alanis of Skidmore, Texas, Roberto Alanis of Skidmore, Texas, Gorgonio Alanis, Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Antonio Alanis of Alice, Texas and Gonzalo Alanis of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Agapita Alanis of Orange Grove, Texas, and Marie Alanis of Alice, Texas; a very special friend, Elsie Sanders of Mt. Pleasant; and ten grandchildren she dearly loved. She had many nieces and nephews from Texas and Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Leocadio, Octavio, Jose, Jorge, Baldemar, Felipe, and step-brother, Santiago Alanis, all from Texas; two sisters, Christina Alanis, and step-sister, Maria Banda, both of Texas.
