Joan A. Baughman

Joan Baughman, 86, of Blue Lake passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at her daughters home surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born June 9, 1930, in Shepherd, daughter of the late Charles H. and Agnes M. (Peters) Bailey. She married her high school sweetheart, Ralph Baughman on July 29, 1951 in Mt. Pleasant. Together they raised three children. While she was a homemaker most of her life, she did teach kindergarten for a short period of time and also worked in the CMU admissions office for 10 years. In her retirement, she and her husband Ralph spent time between their homes on Blue Lake in Mecosta and New Port Richey, FL. Joan is survived by her three children Cindy (Joe) Zuker, Cheri Sjoberg, and Mark (Jackie Boettner) Baughman all of Mt. Pleasant, grandson, Jeffery (Vicky) Zuker of Star, ID,; great-grand daughters, Joslyne and Jordan Zuker; sister, Sue (Gale) Pickens of Tecumseh, WA; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Shanay. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph in 2012; and grandson, Brian Zuker in 2003. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9 at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. A luncheon will immediately follow at the funeral home. Interment of her ashes will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Woodland Hospice and Humane Animal Treatment Society of Isabella County (HATS). Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
