Joe Grisdale

Joe Grisdale, 76, of Mt. Pleasant died Saturday, March 1, 2003 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 8, at Lux Funeral Home with Father Robert Byrne officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service begins. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Joe was born October 7, 1926, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Arthur and Gertrude (Davis) Grisdale. He married Ruth Ann Wilson. After high school Joe enlisted with the U.S. Army. He later worked for several companies including North American Drilling, Nelson Trucking, and Michigan Consolidated Gas Company. The last 18 years he has owned and operated Joes Hot Shot Service. He liked computers, browsing the internet, traveling to Las Vegas with Ruth, and four wheelin with his grandson, Ryan. Joe is survived by his wife, Ruth Grisdale of Mt. Pleasant; one son, Steven (Kathleen) Grisdale of Houston, TX; one grandson, Ryan Grisdale of Carson City; four sisters, Margaret Wood of Alma, Jane (Gilbert) Williams of Elwell, Donna (Richard) Milliman of Lansing and Betty (Nyle) Haggart of Clare; two sisters-in-law, Arlene Grisdale of Atlanta, Ga. and Geraldine Grisdale of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Gertrude; three sisters, Patricia Grisdale, Mary Grisdale and Kathleen Kate Cochran; and three brothers, Thomas, Gerald Jake and James Grisdale.
